LOOKING FOR AN ENERGIZING, FALL RUN?

Slip on your running shoes and come into Detroit Lakes for the Dick Beardsley 1/2 Marathon, 2 person relay and 5K walk/run. The runs are scheduled for 8:30 am on Saturday, September 8.  Join the fun at the Friday evening Spaghetti Feed from 6-7:30 pm on September 7 at the Detroit Lakes Community and Cultural Center. Dick Beardsley & and a guest running legend will speak at 7:30 pm.


2012 marks the 17th Anniversary for the Dick Beardsley Half Marathon. Look for plenty of extras such as chip timing, performance fabric garments, plenty of entertainment along the course as well as water stops.

2011 GUEST LEGEND BILL SQUIRES

- 2002 Bill Bowerman Coaching Award Recipient

- Founding coach of the Greater Boston Track Club, 1973

- Former coach at Boston State College

- National Olympic Marathon Coach, 1980

- Coached some of America's greatest marathoners, including Bill  Rodgers, Alberto Salazar and Dick Beardsley

- Track and road running commentator for ABC, NBC, and the BBC

- Co-authored 2 training books and is working on a third.
