THE COURSE
The Dick Beardsley ½
Marathon is a looped course run through downtown Detroit
Lakes and around beautiful Detroit Lake. It begins at
the Pavilion and finishes by the City Park, just one
block from the start. The ½ Marathon is ideal for first
time participants as the terrain is relatively flat with
some gently rolling hills. The course is USATF certified. Times are recorded for 3 hours, until 11:30 a.m.
Ample water stations, numerous bathroom facilities and
entertainment will be located along the course. Showers
are available at the Detroit Lakes Community Center.

Marathon, 2 person relay and 5K run/walk start near the
Pavilion at 8:30 a.m.
Kids 1K starts at 11:00 a.m.
PRE-REGISTRATION
Send entry forms to the Detroit Lakes Community and
Cultural Center. To be eligible for pre-registration
discount, entries must be received on or before
September 1st . You may also register the day of the
event starting at 7:00 a.m. On-line registration will be
available
through September 3rd.
Race packets
and registration will be available at the DL Pavilion
Friday, September 7th from 4:30-6:30 p.m., or the
morning of the races starting at 6:30 -8 a.m.

FEATURING DICK BEARDSLEY & A GUEST RUNNING LEGEND
6:00-7:30 p.m. Friday,
September 7th at the Detroit Lakes Community & Cultural
Center (826 Summit Avenue). The cost is $10.00 for
adults and $5.00 for ages 4-12, children 3 and under
free. Pay at the door. Dick and a guest running legend will be speaking at
7:30 p.m.

KID'S 1K
Run with Dick Beardsley at 11:00 a.m. Open to kids 12
and under. All receive ribbon and shirt if registered by
September 1.
DIVISIONS
Half Marathon and 5K (male
and female in each category): 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24,
25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64,
65-69, 70+; wheelchair division and age-graded
winners. Relay divisions: Male/Male Team, Female/Female
Team and Co-ed.
AWARDS AND
RESULTS
Medals will be awarded to all finishers. The half
marathon course will close after three hours. Awards
will be presented to top 3 in each division (male,
female & wheelchair) in an awards ceremony following the
Kids’ Run. Running garment and medal to all
participants. All races timed using ChampionChip MN Inc.
